are we™ is operated by JL Labs. These terms govern your use of are we™, including the app, website, account verification, questions, answers, receipts, invite links, and related services.
are we™ is a social app that lets people send a preset question to a contact and receive a structured answer. It is designed for lightweight communication between people who know each other.
are we™ uses SMS to send one-time passcodes (OTPs) for account login and verification only. By providing your phone number during sign-up, you consent to receive SMS messages from us for the sole purpose of verifying your account. We do not use SMS for marketing, notifications, promotional messages, or app invites.
Messages are sent only when you request a verification code. Frequency varies based on your use of the app.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your mobile carrier apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After replying STOP, you will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive verification codes. Please note that opting out may prevent you from logging into your account.

When you choose someone to ask a question, you are responsible for selecting the correct person and using the app respectfully. The app may open your phone's native Messages app with a pre-filled message. That message is sent by you, not by our servers.
Questions, answers, receipts, names, and photos you submit or share are user-generated content. You are responsible for what you send, answer, upload, or share. You agree not to use are we™ to harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, mislead, or violate someone else's rights.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or take other reasonable action if we believe the app is being misused or these terms are being violated. You can delete your account in the app or by emailing [email protected].
Your information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your phone number or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Information collected for SMS verification will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted here.
